Hotel Cort: With its dazzling alabaster façade and crimson highlights, Hotel Cort proudly watches over the hustle and bustle of Plaça Cort, one of the city’s main plazas. Within the century-old edifice, the prize-winning Spanish designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán has created a unique feeling of ample space, individual tranquility and choice reclusion. The winding hallways are draped in blue-white Ikat-tapestry, while historical maritime maps evoke the island’s seafaring traditions. The rooms and suites, varying between 26 and 70 square meters (280 and 753 square feet), each bear their own trademarks thanks to the design of the building, originally home to a bank. Some of the rooms have fireplaces or spiral staircases, while others feature balconies or terraces. Mirroring the natural colors of the island, the rooms are saturated in colors of pine green, terracotta, ultramarine and petrol blue. A variety of lush couches, sprawling carpets and wide beds convey a soothing sense of lavish and spacious comfort.

Our review
The Hotel is situated in the heart of Palma and we were surprised how quiet it was to sleep there. Suite 23 is amazing; it was like being away from home. The design of the room is in subtle blue tones, crispy white cotton sheets and an amazing bathroom with twin showers.Suite 42, the Island Suite, is the perfect room if you are seeking views of Palma. In our opinion, it is the best view! We enjoyed the jacuzzi with views of the Cathedral. There was enough space for clothes and our luggage. On request, the hotel will supply your room with a kettle and a Nespresso machine. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel is difficult to reach by car, as it is prohibited to drive in some streets of Palma. You will need to follow the hotel’s instructions and have your license plate registered to avoid any complications. Suite 42 isn’t so cosy as some of the other rooms. Small seating area and small shower. BUT, a fantastic terrace and a large bathtub next to the bed.
