Autumn is the season when I start longing for warmth, light, and a little extra self-care. And nothing does the trick better than a sauna session.
In the Bregenzerwald, many hotels combine their wooden architecture with beautiful wellness areas, often with panoramic saunas looking out into the forest. Imagine sitting in the dry heat, the scent of spruce wood in the air, and watching the leaves fall outside. Pure bliss.
But sauna is more than relaxation – it has proven health benefits. Regular sessions strengthen the immune system, improve circulation, and leave your skin glowing. And that moment after the sauna, when you step outside into the cool air or dip into a cold pool, is simply unforgettable.
Fun fact: The word “sauna” comes from Finland, where the ritual is considered a way of life. In Finnish culture, business deals, family celebrations, and even important conversations often happen in the sauna. In the Bregenzerwald, it feels just as natural – a gathering place for wellness, not just heat.
My personal tip: don’t wait until you are in a spa hotel. You can create mini-rituals at home too – with hot baths, herbal steam, or simply taking a long shower followed by rest and tea. Add eucalyptus oil for a refreshing kick.
👉 October is the perfect month to start a sauna habit. Your body will thank you once winter arrives.
